little more on "looping wizard" karl blau

Karl Blau's songs are like bedtime stories, when bedtime is at 4 am and you're kind of stoned and the shadows on the wall look like bunnies and the ambient noise coming from the room next to yours is a thousand times more meaningful and resonant than usual (like a soundtrack to your life!) and you decide to stay up and eat saltines because it's almost sunset anyway and then you can go to MoCon and get waffles.

Please don't get me wrong --
Karl Blau (right) will certainly not put you to sleep. He might put you in one of those head-bending, rock-back-and-forth trances. Plus, you might already like him and not even know it: Blau has worked extensively with the Microphones and Mount Eerie (ie, Phil Elvrum) and he is incredibly prolific and multifacted as a musician.

Listen:

Karl Blau: Song for Kevin
Karl Blau: Nothing New
The Microphones: I Felt Your Shape

The Microphones: Ice

Props to Dana Matthiessen '09 for organizing this excellent lineup and for cleaning up the blood in the shower. More details about the show here in Jeff's post.
